Chapter 13 - Depression |
| |
1. |
Depression is darkness. |
2. |
Depression is universal grey. |
3. |
Depression is emptiness. |
4. |
Depression is hopelessness. |
5. |
Depression is absolute rejection.
6. |
In the glimmer of a flickering light, or the tick of a solitary clock, we find ourselves alone.
7. |
Nothing surrounding can fill this emptiness, or longing.
8. |
For loneliness knows no rank nor wealth.
9. |
As much as we heap upon ourselves, or the more these feelings of alone.
10. |
It pierces the painted smile, the shell we use to greet the world
11. |
It shatters the chatter of busy days
12. |
Of more and more
13. |
For it is the very feeling of less, that hurts.
14. |
It hurts to be alone. Nakedness to the world. For all the furs and all the walls, it chills us still.
15. |
It knows no boundaries nor sacred ground For loneliness stalks us, even though we move away.
16. |
No matter how far we travel, it sneaks back into our chest
17. |
It saps us of our strength |
18. |
It drains the very essence to continue This most awful of feelings.
19. |
It slows us to stone, immovable, paralysis.
20. |
To lay down and hope for some escape.
21. |
It is cold being alone Vulnerable to the world. All the protections of life and all the guards and it kills our heart.
22. |
For surely there is no other hell like loneliness.
23. |
There is no hell more savage than life without hope.
24. |
So here we find ourselves in our darkest moment Laid bare to the world.
25. |
Depression is hell of mind.
26. |
Depression is a state of hellish mind.
27. |
A state of dreadful delusion is depression.
28. |
For depression is a fixation on past events affecting the present.
29. |
The past is the past. |
30. |
The anchor of depression. |
31. |
The rock upon which depression is built. |
32. |
Without a mind filled of dread, of guilt, of sadness of the past, one cannot be in depression. |
33. |
Depression is viewing the present and the future through a twisted prism of the past. |
34. |
Only in letting the past go, in resigning the past to history can one address depression. |
35. |
It must be let go. |
36. |
Only in the present, free of the past can things change.
37. |
The primary VIR of loving yourself.
38. |
Your are more. |
39. |
You are special. |
40. |
Your life has reason and purpose.
41. |
Only in motion is that purpose fulfilled. |
42. |
Only in being all you can be is your purpose truly realized.
