1. |
Isimud spoke to Inanna: "My queen, your father has sent me to you.
2. |
Your father's words are words of state.
3. |
They must not be disobeyed."
4. |
Inanna answered: "What has my father said? What has Enki added?
5. |
What are his words of state that may not be disobeyed?"
6. |
Isimud spoke: "My king has said: Let Inanna proceed to Uruk;
7. |
Bring the Boat of Heaven with the holy me back to Eridu."
8. |
Inanna cried: "My father has changed his word to me!
9. |
He has violated his pledge-broken his promise!
10. |
Deceitfully my father spoke to me!
11. |
Deceitfully he cried: 'In the name of my power! In the name of my holy shrine!' Deceitfully he has sent you to me!"

"Come, Ninshuber, once you were Queen of the East;
15. |
Now you are the faithful servant of the holy shrine of Uruk.
16. |
Water has not touched your hand.
17. |
Water has not touched your foot.
18. |
My sukkal who gives me wise advice,
19. |
My warrior who fights by my side,
20. |
Save the Boat of Heaven with the holy me!"

26. |
"Where is my Boat of Heaven now?"
